Series Preview: Tampa Bay Rays @ Toronto Blue Jays (Sep 12-14)

 The Toronto Blue Jays welcome the struggling Tampa Bay Rays to the Rogers Centre in hopes of getting back on track in September.

 

 

After a series loss to the Red Sox this weekend, Toronto is now (78-64) on the season and have won only 3 of their last 10. At the moment the Blue Jays trail Boston in the American League East by a two games. The Rays (60-82) are 4-6 over their last 10 games.

The Blue Jays have a solid 41-30 record at home this season, while Tampa is 25-42 on the road in 2016.

Toronto will hand the ball to lefty Francisco Liriano for the opening game of the series on Monday. Liriano has pitched to a (7-12, 5.27 ERA, 1.576 WHIP, 9.2 K/9) record this season, and is (1-1, 4.38 ERA, 1.378 WHIP, 9.5 K/9) with Toronto since being acquired at the deadline.
