Player of the Day
Monday, July 22nd POD goes to Jesus Lopez and Ronny Brito
Not a heck of a lot to pick from, so I decided to provide a brief update on two prospected which were added to the system via trade this offseason/spring training.
Jesus Lopez, added via the Kendrys Morales trade with Oakland. For some reason, at 22-yrs-old he is being converted to a catcher. Jesus has not appeared in a single game behind his previous 333 games played since 2014. Thus far he’s made 6 starts behind the plate with 6 passed balls and had allowed 9 stolen bases, catching 3. He has also made three starts at 3rd and one at DH. In 10 games with the Vancouver Canadians, Lopez is batting .275 with 5 runs scored, 3 doubles, 5RBI, and 2BB/11K with a .652OPS.
Ronny Brito was added, along with SP Andrew Sopko, via the Russell Martin trade with Los Angeles. Brito spent some time with the Dunedin Blue Jays in June (4GP) before returning to Extended Spring Training. He’s appeared in 31 games with the Vancouver Canadians batting an ugly .188 with a pair of doubles, a triple, and a HR. Brito has scored 9 runs, striking out 49 times and walking just 14 with a .544OPS. Ronny Brito has played 1B (3), 2B (5), 3B (13), and SS (6) as a member of the C’s.
The Bo Bichette and Griffin Conine Show
Bo Bichette and the Buffalo Bisons had the day off. Bo-watch continues today
Griffin Conine had the day off after going 0-for-4 with 4K’s on Sunday and striking out 9 times his last 13 at-bats.

Lover of all things Toronto Blue Jays. Blue Jays MiLB fanatic. I strive for average while stumbling onto above average. Rogers isn’t cheap. Baseball is a business. Your right, but I’m more right.
