Moreno got things going with a 2-run shot in the 3rd inning, a wild pitch brought LJ Talley home in the 5th inning, and Rafael Lantigua singled home Yorman Rodriguez in the 6th inning for all runs Lansing would need for the win.

In his 3rd start with the Dunedin Blue Jays, Simeon Woods Richardson had his best start. You can see his stat line above. He threw 53 of his 80 pitches for strikes. Woods Richardson generated 4 groundball and 4 flyball outs. After a 1st inning, one-out, single off the bat of Daniel Brito, Simeon surrendered 11 straight before allowing a 5th inning walk. SWR quickly got the next two batters to strikeout and groundout to finish his afternoon.
He now has a record of Advanced-A record of 1-2 with a3.95ERA, striking out 18 and walking 5. Opponents are batting .133 and he owns a 0.80WHIP in 13.2IP.
Turner Larkins has split 2019 between the bullpen and the rotation. The 23-yr-old needed just 14 pitches, 10 strikes thrown, to pitch a perfect 6th inning. Larkins didn’t allow a hit or walk while striking out a pair. He got one flyball out. Turner Larkins owns a record fo 5-4 with a 3.72ERA in 22 games (12 starts). He’s walked just 23 batters and 74 strikeouts over 84.2IP while posting a 1.44WHIP.
Connor Law joined the D-Jays on April 18th and recently spend a few days on the 7-day IL (August 2nd to 10th). In his 1st appearance returning from the IL, Law needed just 11 pitches, 7 strikes, to pitch one hitless, walkless, strikeout-less inning in the 7th inning. Law owns a record of 1-0 with a 3.05ERA in 27 appearances with the Blue Jays. He’s struck out 46 batters and walked 22 over 38.1IP.
The 24-yr-old Emerson Jimenez converted his 1st save of 2019 with two scoreless innings, allowing one hit and two walks while striking out 3. Emerson pounded the strike zone with 21 of his 39 pitches going for strikes. He didn’t generate any groundball out but did finish with 2 flyball outs. The righty is 5-1 with a 3.02ERA in 34 games out of Dunedin’s bullpen. He’s struck out just 36 batters while walking 21 in 50.2IP.
The Kevin Smith and Griffin Conine Show
Kevin Smith and the Fisher Cats enjoyed an off day. He is batting .213 and has 19 doubles, 43 runs scored, and 17HR in 98 games. Smith has gone cold again with a .182 batting average over his 10 games.
Griffin Conine played RF but batted leadoff for the first time this year. He went 2-for-4 with two runs scored, a 2-run HR, and three RBI. The 22-yr-old is heating up after a slow July, batting .359 with 4HR and 10RBI over his last 10 games. He is batting .291 with, 12 doubles, 2 triples, 19HR, 51RBI, and a .965OPS in 61 games.
