Bradon Scott and Cre Finfrock held the Yard Goats off the board over the final 3 innings. GM2- Zac Cook hit his 3rd HR of the season, a two-run shot to right CF in the 3rd, and John Aiello hit his first HR in the 5th on route to a 3-0 win. Maximo Castillo was dominant through five innings, striking out 8 batters.

Vancouver- The C’s jumped on Landon Marceaux for 3 runs in the 1st inning. Thank you Riley Tirotta for that 3-run shot. Vancouver put four more on the board in the 4th courtesy of a Andres Sosa RBI single and Addison Barger 3-run double. Trent Palmer allowed 3 runs. Sean Mellen, Mark Simon, Wil McAffer, Thomas Ruwe, and Joel Concepcion combined on 6 innings of 1-hit shutout relief.

Player Spotlight

Today we turn our attention to Rainer Nunez.

The 21-yr-old native of La Romana, DR., is in his 4th professional season. Nunez batted 4th and DH’d for the Dunedin Blue Jays on Sunday. The 6-foot-3 righty bat singled in the 2nd inning, hit a solo home run in the 4th, and another solo home run to lead off the 7th inning. He had a chance to pad his stats and make the game much closer in the 8th with two on and one out; unfortunately, he grounded into an inning-ending double-play.

In 36 at-bats, Rainer Nunez is batting .361 with a 0.998OPS, 3 home runs, and 8RBI while splitting his time between 1st and DH.
