The system went 2 and 2.

Buffalo- Gabriel Moreno put the first run on the board for the Bisons with his 4th double, scoring Vinny Capra in the 3rd inning. Also in the 3rd, Cullen Large hit an RBI single, Samad Taylor hit an RBI double, and Logan Warmoth hit a 2-run double, 5-0. Nathan Lukes and Vinny Capra padded the lead with an RBI sac fly and RBI single in the 8th as the Herd picked up win #10 and Bowden Francis picked up win #1. Fast-moving relief prospect, Adrian Hernandez, earned the HOLD in his Triple-A debut, walking a batter and a strikeout in 0.2IP.

New Hampshire- A Luis De Los Santos 2-run single in the 4th inning was all the offense the Fisher Cats could muster in GM1. GM2 was not much better as The Curve held the Fisher Cats to 2 runs on 4 hits. Tanner Morris hit his 3rd HR and Rafael Lantigua doubled home Chris Bec. Nick Fraze and Braden Scott weren’t very sharp but Trey Cumbie really struggled, allowing 5 runs on 3 hits and 2 walks while retiring one batter.

Vancouver- Rained out.

Dunedin- With the game knotted up 2-2 after 4 innings, Gabriel Martinez hit a two-run home run to give the D-Jays the lead. In the 7th inning, Gabriel Martinez reached on a HBP and ended up at 3rd base after a pair of walks. A Bulk allowed Martinez to score to give the D-Jays a 3-run lead. Wilgenis Alvardo and Conor Larkin combined to shutdown the Mighty Mussels over the final five innings, walking 3 and striking out 5.

Player Spotlight

Today we turn our attention to Logan Warmoth.

Warmoth is off to a mighty fine start. Playing CF and batting 8th, the former 1st rounder struck out in his 1st at-bat. The Bisons’ 5-run 3rd, Logan stepped to the plate with 3 runs in, two outs, and two on. He stroked a 3-1 pitch to LF to score Samad Taylor and Mallex Smith. The 26-yr-old grounded out leading off the 6th but doubled in the 8th after Mallex Smith singled to lead off the inning. A Nathan Lukes sac fly scored Smith from 3rd and Warmoth advanced to 3rd on the play. Vinny Capra brought him home with an infield single.

The converted infielder went 2-for-4 with a run scored, two doubles, two RBI, and a strikeout.

In 38 at-bats, Warmoth is batting .316 with 2HR, 10RBI, 1 stolen base, and a 1.027OPS. In the field, he’s split his time between RF (5GP) and LF (4GP) with yesterday being his 1st game in CF in 2022. He played 54 games in CF in 2021.
